As a creative, I spend lots of my time with other like-minded creators. In the last seven years that I've reconnected with my art, I hear what other artists think, say, and hope for. One constant that I've noticed, is that we are really hard on ourselves. We are critical, cruel masters, and we never think we do enough. I don't know about you, but I've experienced burnout. It's not pretty and never want to do it again.

Fresh Fall Color Palette
Well, I think you'll agree this month's color palette is pretty October-ish... Because of that, I almost went with different fall colors just to change it up, but in the end I decided I just couldn't do it! October is so much about harvesting pumpkins, yellow and brown leaves ready to fall from the trees, and gray are skies rolling in. This year I added more rust, taupe, and grays to accent the current color trends.

October Calendar Download
The October calendar is here! This painting was created as one of the projects in my art class, Abstract Watercolor Painting- Backgrounds, inspired by a technique that helped me relax and let go of my anxiety during the orders to stay at home during March 2020. The loose, unplanned abstract watercolor patterns remind me that life takes care of most things if we can just remember to let it do it’s job.
